Xperia arc este primul model 2011 anunțat oficial de către Sony Ericsson. Acesta e foarte subțire și putem spune că la 8.7mm grosime aproape că nu mai conștientizezi că ții în mână un smartphone. Dincolo de designul SENZAȚIONAL, Xperia arc are un ecran capacitiv Reality Display multi-touch cu diagonala de 4.2inci. Acesta are în spate Mobile BRAVIA Engine, care răspunde de luminozitatea și claritatea imaginilor. Rezoluția ecranului este de 854 x 480 pixeli (FWVGA).
Camera foto de 8.1 megapixeli poate filma HD, având un senzor Exmor R cu lentile f/2.4. Prin urmare ne putem aștepta la imagini luminoase și atunci când lumina ambientală nu ne avantajează. Videoclipurile și fotografiile vor putea fi redate pe un televizor prin conectorul HDMI.

Procesorul lui Xperia arc este un Qualcomm la 1 GHz. Memoria internă este de 512MB, iar aparatul include un microSD 8 GB. Xperia arc va folosi ultima versiune de Android (Gingerbread) și va include serviciile Google Mobile. Telefonul va fi lansat pe piață în Q1, chiar dacă pe anumite piețe arputea ajunge prin iunie 2011.
